Start Your Romance The Right Way - The First Kiss
Posted at Nov 6th, 2009 in Romance Tips
In a new relationship, your first kiss can be a time of high anxiety. It’s an awkward moment for most men, especially those who have been out of the dating scene for a long time.
You have good reason to be nervous when kissing her for the first time. The very first kiss is for many women, a way of sensing chemistry and compatibility.
How you initiate the kiss is just as important as the execution of the kiss itself. There are a number of complex cues both romantic and chemical that women pick up on.
Don’t think that the first kiss is merely something to get out of the way. The following are three tips on doing it the right way.
1.) You won’t make a great impression if you ask for her permission.
This doesn’t mean that you can just grab her and start kissing because you’re feeling aroused. Instead you must gauge when the moment is right. If there is sexual tension between both of you and she is showing signs of attraction for you, then seize the moment and kiss her.
Asking her for her permission lessens the romantic impact of that first kiss. It can cause you to seem weak. Women expect to be swept off their feet by a strong confident man who takes charge. Now is the time, take charge of the moment.
2.) Know her signs of attraction.
Does she find excuses to touch you such as wanting to read your palm? Perhaps she’ll stumble and hold on to you for support. Does she “accidentally” bush her hand across yours?
Her eye contact with you is also important. Is she stealing glances at you? Is there plenty of lengthy eye contact?
Do her eyes roam over your face? Her eyes may linger over your lips. Does she lean in to be closer to you?
Maybe she’s a little bit nervous? She may even fix or adjust her hair when she senses your attention. Are the pupils in her eyes dilated?
3.) Begin the kiss very slowly.
Lean in, take her hand in yours, look into her eyes and then her lips and mouth. If she doesn’t push away, kiss her. You can also softly touch her hair or cup her face in your hands before kissing.
