If you ever wanted to know how to get over a break up, you most probably know that it is not that easy. Like the saying “time heals wounds” – this applies equally when getting over a break up. Without allowing yourself the time to get to grips with what has happened, you will find it hard knowing how to get over a break up and move on.

A break up will make you feel a whole host of intense emotions, such as fear, anger, sadness and resentment. It is normal to have these feelings after a break up, so if you are feeling some or all of them, consider yourself normal. So many others have taken this beaten path before.

To help yourself get over your break up depression, you first need to accept it. This means you need to feel every emotion, and deal with each appropriately. One way would be to cry and scream into your pillow. Opposite to what you may think, this type of behavior is healthy.

It is important, however, to prevent yourself form acting out in an unhealthy way. Do not seek revenge by embarking on a mission to hurt or spite your ex partner when learning how to get over a break up. This will get you nowhere and will ultimately end in you feeling worse than before. Remember, just because you have been hurt does not give you the right to hurt others.

While you let yourself feel all these emotions, you need to remind yourself that the ultimate goal is knowing how to deal with a break up. Many of us lose sight of this, and we find ourselves dwelling on our emotions without being able to get over them.

So allow yourself the time and space to face and resolve these emotions, but do not dwell on them for too long. As you learn how to get over a break up, you are bound to have good days when you feel like you have moved on, but also bad days where something triggers a painful emotion. Look you are human after all, so take each day as it comes and don’t be hard on yourself on one of those bad days.

Despite feeling like it is the end of the world, it is important to look for that small flame of hope within and keep it alive when dealing with a break up. Remember, a break up does not mean you are doomed to be alone for the rest of your life, it simply means there was something wrong with the relationship. You will move on and there will be someone else; it juts takes time.

So as you figure out how to get over a break up, remember to embraces and move away from the past. And looks towards your bright future ahead – where you will meet your true love…They could just be around the next block.
