Trying to preserve the friendship and companionship in a relationship that has turned bitter can worsen things in that manner. To be nice to someone who once owned your heart is a big risk for your own emotions. Making up is good if the relationship is worth fighting for, but what if it’s not? Being in love yesterday doesn’t mean being in love today and tomorrow. To stay in love with your ex doesn’t mean he’s still into you, too.
